As part of WP4 – Environmental mapping and monitoring, Tsakiris Giorgos from Aegean Solutions S.A. completed a secondment at Cyprus University of Technology (October 6 – November 5, 2025), contributing to Task 4.1: Coastal erosion and Task 4.3: 3D Change detection methodology.
The work focused on developing a Backend Web Application to extract and analyze coastline data from Google Earth Engine, implementing both traditional and machine learning algorithms for coastline change detection.
In parallel, he conducted research on coastline segmentation techniques to inform future AI-integrated geospatial solutions within our platform.
