We are delighted to host Evangelia Metochianaki from Aegean Solutions SA at the Cyprus University of Technology as part of the COASTLINE project! Over the coming month, she will focus on the changes in the Cypriot coastline during antiquity.
Her research project is based on geoarchaeological studies of ports and coastal areas, with a particular emphasis on the southern and western coastlines. Within this framework, she will examine the factors that led to these environmental shifts, analyzing the combined impact of human intervention, tectonic activity, and natural causes.
This could provide a valuable analytical model for long-term coastal evolution, essential for understanding historical topography and managing the modern coastal zone.
We’re looking forward to seeing the interesting outcomes of her research! 💪✨
