On GIS Day, held on November 20, 2025, at the Cyprus University of Technology and organized by the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics, the Coastline project was promoted by Assistant Prof. Apostolos Papakonstantinou, coordinator of the project. During the event, Dr. Apostolos Papakonstantinou participated in an open discussion focusing on “The Future of GIS in Cyprus,” sharing insights on current developments in geospatial technologies, emerging challenges, and opportunities for strengthening the role of GIS in research, education, and professional practice.
