COASTLINE Research Mobility: Muhammad Ali Kapri at FORTH

Muhammad Ali Kapri, PhD candidate at the Politecnico di Bari (POLIBA), is currently spending 2 months at FORTH (Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas) in Crete as part of the MSCA Staff Exchanges project COASTLINE.
During his secondment, Muhammad Ali is working on one of the key challenges affecting coastal areas: soil salinization. By combining Sentinel-2 and PlanetScope satellite imagery with advanced geospatial techniques, he is developing methodologies to identify vulnerable areas and support salinization risk assessment in coastal environments.
This experience is not only advancing research activities within WP5, but also strengthening scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange between project partners, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for coastal risk management.
A big thank you to our colleagues at FORTH for their warm welcome and continuous support!
