COASTLINE at ICCSA 2026

🌊 COASTLINE at ICCSA 2026!
We are pleased to share that the COASTLINE Project was presented at the 26th International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications (ICCSA 2026), hosted by the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal).
During the conference, Alessandra Capolupo (Politecnico di Bari) presented the preliminary results of Work Package 5, showcasing the development of an integrated multi-source geospatial framework for assessing coastal risks and modelling cascading hazard processes.
The presentation highlighted how COASTLINE combines:
📍 multi-source geospatial data,
🌊 hazard characterization,
🔗 cascading risk modelling,
🏘️ exposure and vulnerability assessment,
📊 risk prioritization, and
🧭 decision-support tools,
to support more informed and evidence-based coastal resilience strategies.
These preliminary results represent an important milestone toward delivering innovative methodologies that help stakeholders better understand complex coastal dynamics and strengthen climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction.
A big thank you to the ICCSA 2026 organizers for providing such an inspiring venue for scientific exchange and collaboration!
