During his PhD studies, Claudio embarked on a comprehensive bibliographic analysis of object-based image analysis (OBIA) and experimented with advanced software tools such as eCognition and Orfeo Toolbox. 📊💻
📈 Key Highlights:
•Publications: Claudio successfully published two SCOPUS-indexed articles focusing on methods for segmenting plastic greenhouses and OBIA classification using Sentinel-2 images. 📝🔬
•Photovoltaic Plant Extraction: He developed a ruleset in eCognition for extracting photovoltaic plants and combined it with the Random Forest Machine Learning algorithm. 🏭🌞
•PVSEI Index: During his research abroad, Claudio introduced the PVSEI index for extracting photovoltaic systems and conducted comparative studies using classifiers like Decision Tree and Naive Bayes. His findings were presented at various conferences. 🌐📊
•Collaborative Mapping: Claudio also designed a tool within the JOSM editing software to enable the collaborative mapping of small rooftop photovoltaic installations using high-resolution satellite images. 🛰️🏢
